چکیده

In this paper we present a method for representing complex façades. For this purpose we developed a hierarchical decomposition for the façade. The steps of the decomposition are represented as nodes in a typed graph where the leaves are the atomic façade elements. Every node includes necessary attributes for its façade structure. The edges in the graph depict adjacent façade elements providing spatial information. With this approach complex architectural structures can be defined easily. A geometry engine traverses the graph in order to generate the detailed façade geometry but can stop at any given depth to produce exactly fitting geometry.

Knowledge Representation Issues in Semantic Graphs for Relationship Detection

An important task for Homeland Security is the prediction of threat vulnerabilities, such as through the detection of relationships between seemingly disjoint entities. A structure used for this task is a semantic graph, also known as a relational data graph or an attributed relational graph. These graphs encode relationships as typed links between a pair of typed nodes. Indeed, semantic graphs...

Typed Graph Models for Semi-Supervised Learning of Name Ethnicity

This paper presents an original approach to semi-supervised learning of personal name ethnicity from typed graphs of morphophonemic features and first/last-name co-occurrence statistics. We frame this as a general solution to an inference problem over typed graphs where the edges represent labeled relations between features that are parameterized by the edge types. We propose a framework for pa...

A Component Concept for Typed Graphs with Inheritance and Containment Structures: Long Version

Model-driven development (MDD) has become a promising trend in software engineering. The model-driven development of highly complex software systems may lead to large models which deserve a modularization concept to enable their structured development in larger teams. Graphs are a natural way to represent the underlying structure of visual models. Typed graphs with inheritance and containment a...

Open Graphs and Monoidal Theories

String diagrams are a powerful tool for reasoning about physical processes, logic circuits, tensor networks, and many other compositional structures. The distinguishing feature of these diagrams is that edges need not be connected to vertices at both ends, and these unconnected ends can be interpreted as the inputs and outputs of a diagram. In this paper, we give a concrete construction for str...

Typed Graph Theory Extending graphs with type systems

In this paper, we propose typed graph theory, a generalisation of graph theory by extending graphs with type systems. Type theory, as a study of type systems, was originally developed as a formal system in logics. In the proposed typed graph theory, every vertex has a type and operations are restricted to vertices of a certain type. We revisit core concepts in graph theory, where new interestin...
